About Mehdi

Hi, I’m Mehdi Raza—a developer, startup founder, and open-source maintainer. Online, I usually go by thehappybug.

I build software at APIMatic and spend a lot of time thinking about developer experience, AI, and the small details that make tools pleasant to use. I like turning fuzzy problems into useful products, then writing down what I learned along the way.

Why “thehappybug”?

Because software always has bugs. The interesting part is learning what they reveal: an assumption we missed, an edge case nobody expected, or occasionally a feature waiting to be named. This site is where I keep those discoveries.

What you’ll find here

  • Blog: longer notes on software, AI, building products, and the lessons hidden in the bugs.
  • Projects: things I have built, maintained, or am still experimenting with.
  • Vibe: shorter thoughts that do not need to become full articles.

Away from the keyboard, I travel and take photographs. Both are good reminders to slow down, notice details, and look at familiar things from a different angle.

Say hello

The best ways to reach me are GitHub or email. If something here is useful, surprising, or broken, I would genuinely like to hear about it.
